	Cette étude vise à évaluer la capacité des fibres (chanvre et alfa) à améliorer les propriétés mécaniques du béton, dans le but de créer un béton respectueux de l'environnement. Les bétons ont été incorporés avec des teneurs de 0.25%, 0.5%, et 1% (en volume) en fibres de chanvre, plus une dose de 0.5% (en volume) de fibres d'alfa et ainsi qu'un béton ordinaire. Les résultats montrent que l'utilisation des fibres de chanvre et d'alfa permet une meilleure augmentation de la résistance à la traction par fendage par rapport au béton ordinaire. En outre, l'augmentation de la résistance à la flexion pour le béton de fibres de chanvre est optimale avec une teneur de 0.25%. Aussi, le module d’élasticité dynamique du HFC-0.25 est proche ou égal à celui du béton ordinaire. Nous concluons que les fibres végétales de chanvre et d'alfa sont des candidats potentiels pour produire du béton vert.

	In this paper, we introduce an innovative design approach based on combined numerical simulations and machine learning (ML) analysis to investigate the design key parameters of ultra-low scale junctionless gate-all-around (JLGAA) field-effect transistor (FET) devices. To this end, precise 3D numerical models that incorporate quantum effects and ballistic transport are employed to simulate the current–voltage (&lt;i&gt;I&lt;/i&gt;–&lt;i&gt;V&lt;/i&gt;) characteristics of 10 nm-scale JLGAA FET devices. The influence of design parameter variations and high-k dielectric material on the subthreshold characteristics is thoroughly examined. Various ML algorithms were employed to analyze and classify the key design parameters influencing the subthreshold figures-of-merit (FoMs), the subthreshold swing (SS) factor and&amp;nbsp;&lt;i&gt;I&lt;/i&gt;&lt;sub&gt;ON&lt;/sub&gt;/&lt;i&gt;I&lt;/i&gt;&lt;sub&gt;OFF&lt;/sub&gt;&amp;nbsp;ratio. The obtained results highlight that channel radius and channel doping design parameters are particularly important for affecting swing factor behavior. Similarly, these features also play a significant role in predicting and affecting&amp;nbsp;&lt;i&gt;I&lt;/i&gt;&lt;sub&gt;ON&lt;/sub&gt;/&lt;i&gt;I&lt;/i&gt;&lt;sub&gt;OFF&lt;/sub&gt;&amp;nbsp;current ratio values. Additionally, machine learning is used to determine the optimal design parameters for each figure of merit (FoM) output value. In this context, the models effectively predicted both&amp;nbsp;&lt;i&gt;I&lt;/i&gt;&lt;sub&gt;ON&lt;/sub&gt;/&lt;i&gt;I&lt;/i&gt;&lt;sub&gt;OFF&lt;/sub&gt;&amp;nbsp;current ratios and SS classification, with Naive Bayes achieving an accuracy of 90.8% for&amp;nbsp;&lt;i&gt;I&lt;/i&gt;&lt;sub&gt;ON&lt;/sub&gt;/&lt;i&gt;I&lt;/i&gt;&lt;sub&gt;OFF&lt;/sub&gt;&amp;nbsp;and 92.6% for SS, showcasing the model's robustness in these classification tasks.

	This study devises self-stabilizing algorithms that leverage the expression distance-2 paradigm to compute (i) a maximal distance-2 independent set, wherein selected nodes maintain a separation exceeding two edges, ensuring non-adjacency; and (ii) a minimal dominating set, wherein each external node has at least one node as a neighbor in the dominating set. The efficacy and convergence of the algorithms are established through rigorous proofs within the framework of the expression model. Extensive simulation tests validate the algorithms' proficiency in selecting a minimal subset of nodes across expansive network topologies. These algorithms find practical applications in network operations, particularly in ad hoc and wireless sensor networks for the selection of cluster heads that facilitate critical services. Moreover, the self-stabilizing property of the algorithms guarantees the robust reconfiguration of cluster heads post-failure, thereby preserving network functionality amidst disruptions.

	High speed machining (HSM) is an attractive process for numerous applications due to its potential to increase production rates, reduce lead times, lower costs, and enhance part quality. In this study, high-speed turning operations on AISI D2 steel using a coated carbide cutting tool under dry conditions were conducted. The cutting parameters examined in this investigation were&amp;nbsp;&lt;i&gt;Vc&lt;/i&gt;,&amp;nbsp;f, and&amp;nbsp;&lt;i&gt;ap&lt;/i&gt;, while the outputs measured were surface roughness (Ra), cutting temperature (T), and flank wear (VB). To obtain reliable and accurate results, a Taguchi L27 orthogonal array for the 27 experimental runs was employed as well as analysis of variance (ANOVA), response surface methodology (RSM), and artificial neural network (ANN) to develop a constitutive relationship between prediction responses and the cutting parameters. The ANOVA results showed that&amp;nbsp;&lt;i&gt;Vc&lt;/i&gt;&amp;nbsp;had a significant effect on&amp;nbsp;T&amp;nbsp;(36.81%) and VB (27.58%), while&amp;nbsp;f&amp;nbsp;had a considerable influence on Ra (24.21%). Additionally, nonlinear prediction models were created for each measured output and their accuracy was evaluated using three statistical indices: coefficient of determination (R&lt;sup&gt;2&lt;/sup&gt;), mean absolute percentage error (MAPE), and root mean square error (RMSE). Finally, multi-objective optimization was successfully carried out using the desirability function (DF) approach to propose an optimal set of cutting parameters that simultaneously minimized Ra,&amp;nbsp;T, and VB. The optimized cutting parameters were&amp;nbsp;&lt;i&gt;Vc&lt;/i&gt;&amp;nbsp;= 477.28 m/min,&amp;nbsp;f&amp;nbsp;= 0.08 rev/min, and&amp;nbsp;&lt;i&gt;ap&lt;/i&gt;&amp;nbsp;= 0.8 mm, resulting in Ra = 1.23&amp;nbsp;μm,&amp;nbsp;T&amp;nbsp;=&amp;nbsp;129.9∘C, and VB = 0.049 mm.

	&lt;em&gt;Olea europaea&lt;/em&gt;&amp;nbsp;L. 1753, is one of the oldest and most distinctive trees in the Mediterranean region. Its nutritional, social, cultural, and economic value is very important for populations in arid regions, where it is widely distributed. A sign of a sustainable environment in many agricultural regions is the existence of a wide variety and abundance of arthropod groups. The main objective of the study is to evaluate the diversity of arthropods subservientin in olive agro-systems in the arid region by using several sampling techniques, namely classic sight hunting, visual inspection, Barber pots, and yellow traps. The inventory is carried out over a period of 5 months, from February to June 2023, in three stations in M’Sila (northeastern Algeria). Three classes of arthropods were found: Insecta, Arachnida, and Malacostraca. Captures were numerically dominated by Insecta, representing 96.88% of total captures. Arachnida and Malacostraca classes represented about 2.74 and 0.38%, respectively. During this research, a total of 1861 arthropod individuals were collected and identified into 83 species, 79 genera, 53 families, and 15 orders. The most abundant orders were: Diptera (42.56%), Hymenoptera (28.11%), and Coleoptera (7.32%). However, we found a significant difference in species composition according to habitat (P &amp;lt; 0.01). The species were determined, and the ecological indices were calculated (Shannon Value, Evenness values and Simpson reciprocal index). The dominant functional feeding groups were phytophages (41.91 %), predators (32.94%), and polyphages (22.14%). 	Our study aims to analyse two communicative schemata: online interaction (IL) and radio interaction (IR). The objective is to understand the functioning of phatic expression and its characteristics in the opening and closing rituals in IL &amp;amp; IR. A descriptive analytical approach was adopted to conduct a qualitative analysis of a corpus consisting of IR on Alger Chaine 3 and IL in a Messenger group (Facebook). This analysis revealed the presence of phatic elements in the openings and closures of exchanges, both in IR and online interactions. It allowed contrasting these two types of interactions, highlighting the specificity of IL, especially as users shape their linguistic and interactive behaviour in the digital environment.

	L’écriture de Rachid Mimouni s’inscrit dans une dynamique contestataire qui s’oppose à la parole paternelle et se rebelle contre les régimes en place. Dans les années&amp;nbsp;1980, le roman Tombéza se distingue de l’écriture débridée de Boujedra par un discours corrosif maîtrisé et une représentation impitoyablement réaliste de l’horreur quotidienne d’une Algérie défigurée. Cet article propose de relire le texte en mobilisant la génétique textuelle, l’image littéraire et le concept de paratopie, en les conjuguant avec les philosophies du devenir et la notion de rhizome. L’objectif est d’analyser l’écartèlement du moi chez le personnage de Tombéza, érigé en paria, et de montrer comment la paratopie de l’écrivain sert à négocier l’intenable entre deux mondes, tout en exprimant la rupture par la démodélisation de l’œuvre en rhizome. Nous verrons comment cette « littérature-monde » se conçoit à travers l’exil de l’être déraciné Tombéza, qui devient le support du discours paratopique de Mimouni, se déplaçant tel un archipel pour se reconstruire en une identité multiculturelle. Ce processus s’opère par une répétition différentielle, incarnée par une écriture de l’urgence.

	Diesel engines (DEs) commonly power pumps used in agricultural and grassland irrigation. However, relying on unpredictable and costly fuel sources for DEs pose’s challenges related to availability, reliability, maintenance, and lifespan. Addressing these environmental concerns, this study introduces an emulation approach for photovoltaic (PV) water pumping (WP) systems. Emulation offers a promising alternative due to financial constraints, spatial limitations, and climate dependency in full-scale systems. The proposed setup includes three key elements: a PV system emulator employing back converter control to replicate PV panel characteristics, a boost converter with an MPPT algorithm for efficient power tracking across diverse conditions, and a motor pump (MP) emulator integrating an induction motor connected to a DC generator to simulate water pump behaviors. Precise induction motor control is achieved through a controlled inverter. This work innovatively combines PV and WP emulation while optimizing system dynamics, aiming to develop a comprehensive emulator and evaluate an enhanced control algorithm. An optimized scalar control strategy regulates the water MP, demonstrated through MATLAB/Simulink simulations that highlight superior performance and responsiveness to solar irradiation variations compared to conventional MPPT techniques. Experimental validation using the dSPACE control desk DS1104 confirms the emulator’s ability to faithfully reproduce genuine solar panel characteristics.

	Heat transfer by convection is widely used in many engineering applications such as in heat exchangers, combustion devices or gas processing. In Buildings, the use of rough surfaces allows enhancing heat transfer rates. Practically, in this study, a rough surface is obtained by using protuberances on the vertical left wall. In this perspective, the originality of this research is to study the influence of the protuberance geometric shapes on the heat transfer using 2D numerical simulations as a tool investigation. The homotopic transformation is used to reach a flat plate. The system of equations with the boundary conditions is solved using the finite volume method. A simple algorithm is chosen for the integration of algebraic equations. The governing equations are figured out using ANSYS FLUENT commercial software with SIMPLE algorithm in order to solve pressure-velocity coupling. The numerical simulations have been performed for different shapes of the protuberances (battlement, triangular and sinusoidal). The boundary conditions are based on a uniform heat flux applied to the vertical wall. On the other hand, the horizontal walls are subject to the adiabatic condition. It can be noticed that the effect of the wavy geometry induces a noticeable improvement of the heat transfer rate compared to an enclosure without protuberances. It can also conclude that the wavy configuration exhibits a Nusselt average slightly higher than that of the square cavity, particularly the triangular configuration, by approximately 20%.

	Heat transfer by convection is widely used in many engineering applications such as in heat exchangers, combustion devices or gas processing. In Buildings, the use of rough surfaces allows enhancing heat transfer rates. Practically, in this study, a rough surface is obtained by using protuberances on the vertical left wall. In this perspective, the originality of this research is to study the influence of the protuberance geometric shapes on the heat transfer using 2D numerical simulations as a tool investigation. The homotopic transformation is used to reach a flat plate. The system of equations with the boundary conditions is solved using the finite volume method. A simple algorithm is chosen for the integration of algebraic equations. The governing equations are figured out using ANSYS FLUENT commercial software with SIMPLE algorithm in order to solve pressure-velocity coupling. The numerical simulations have been performed for different shapes of the protuberances (battlement, triangular and sinusoidal). The boundary conditions are based on a uniform heat flux applied to the vertical wall. On the other hand, the horizontal walls are subject to the adiabatic condition. It can be noticed that the effect of the wavy geometry induces a noticeable improvement of the heat transfer rate compared to an enclosure without protuberances. It can also conclude that the wavy configuration exhibits a Nusselt average slightly higher than that of the square cavity, particularly the triangular configuration, by approximately 20%.

	The significance of the Black female identity in the stratified predominantly White American society have been under scrutiny for the past half a century. Affiliated with two socially persecuted groups, African American women felt unavoidably compelled to fall under certain societal patterns and paradigms, which expectedly fail to represent their authentic sense of self. The conundrum encountered by Black females in “The Bluest Eye” is in fact aesthetically rooted; Toni Morrison vividly portrayed the destructive outcome of blindingly conforming to the standardized beauty concepts created by a dominant social group, and systematically masterminded for everyone to embrace and adapt to regardless of their cultural backgrounds and skin color. The novel exemplifies Morrison’s unswerving fight against the underestimation of Black women’s existence and the devaluation of their self-worth and identity.

	The knee osteoarthritis requires the latter joint replacement by a total knee prosthesis (TKP). Generally, this prosthesis consists of three parts; a femoral component in CoCrMo cobalt alloy, a tibial insert in polyethylene, and a tibial tray in titanium a loy Ti6AL4V. This type of prosthesis is not 100 % comfortable, after years of implantation, the tibial insert (polyethylene) degrades and gives more wear debris, which affects the bio-functionality of this prosthesis and the patient life. In this study, two models of total knee prosthesis are designed and analyzed using SolidWorks and Ansys software, the first model is the existing three-part prosthesis, and the second model is based on the theory of Mooney – Rivlin method prosthesis with a new layer of silicone component. In this paper, shock simulation of a free fall from a height of 75 cm is studied. The results of the displace ment comparison between the first model 0.039 mm, and the second model 1.41 mm. In compar ison with the contraction of the biological knee joint show that the second model has a contraction closer to the biological knee. It can be deduced that this total knee prosthesis has a hyper-elastic behavior closer to the behavior of a biological knee as well, which gives more stability and provides a cushioning role for the knee compared to the existing TKP.

	An experimental investigation was conducted at Delft University of Technology to examine the behavior of eight statically loaded extended end plate moment connections up to collapse. The parameters investigated were the end plate thickness (10 mm, 15 mm, and 20 mm) and steel grade of the end plate (S355, S690). While the study was limited to a static test, this investigation intends to analyze the dynamic behavior of the research specimens (FS1 to FS4) using finite element methods. The multi-purpose software Abaqus was used to develop the 3D model. The mechanical properties of these connections, including strength, ductility, and energy dissipation capacity, are examined. The cyclic loading is applied according to the JGJ 101-96 standard specification. The finite element model was validated against experimental tests for both static and dynamic conditions, successfully reproducing moment-rotation curves and simulating ductile damage as well. The results indicate that increased plate thickness corresponds to improved stiffness and strength, while the use of higher steel grades introduces a delayed yield point and may reduce ductility, which must be balanced to optimize performance considering specific design requirements and loading conditions. Our findings align with previous findings and underscore the need for a better understanding of joint behavior under dynamic loading for seismic design since the strain rate at which load is applied significantly affects the material properties, which can significantly affect the performance of blast-resistant structures.

	Maintenance, storage and warehousing are complex processes required in many industries such as automotive, aerospace, manufacturing and logistic companies. These processes, often, involve moving objects in crowded environments using robots or human operators. Particularly, replacement and assembly of machine parts in crowded environments when performed by a human being require high technical skills. These tasks may be performed using robots to reduce costs due to human errors and execution time. However, robots under open world assumptions could neither operate in all environments nor perform tasks not modeled by the designer. In this paper, we introduce a mixed reality system to assist human operators in moving objects in crowded environments for maintenance tasks such as: parts assembly or replacement, and storage of objects. The introduced system consists of a mobile application exploited through a hands-free VR box. The proposed Mixed Reality for Industrial Maintenance (MRIM) system enhances the perception of a human operator by overlaying 3D real world visual information and virtual objects, such as: orientation guidelines including rotating angles, moving direction and displacement of carried objects. These guidelines allow for gaining execution time, and reducing human errors that might cause industrial parts damage. The proposed work brings two main contributions. First, it makes use of a new algorithm based on recasting, named R star (R*) that allows for optimizing pathfinding in 3D space. This later outperforms the two commonly used baseline 3D pathfinding algorithms of at least 87.5% in terms of execution time. Second, MRIM provides an easy-to-use interface that exploits information provided by the R* algorithm. The experiments, conducted in real condition for the task of part replacement in a crowded environment, show that MRIM reduces considerably execution time and human errors.

	Soil erosion is the main cause of siltation in dams, on the one hand, and it is one of the main causes of degradation of the agro-pedological heritage, on the other hand. In this context, this work aims to quantify the eroded soils and their spatial distribution in the watershed of Wadi El-Hai (Aurès, Algeria), reaching the Fontaines des Gazelles dam located at the outlet of this basin. The work focuses on mapping and analyzing various thematic maps representing the key erosion factors, linking the Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE), with the goal of producing a synthesis map providing a quantitative spatial representation of the extent of the phenomenon in the watershed. From this map, we can confirm that the erosion phenomenon affects the entire watershed of Wad El Hai. The most severe erosion, affecting 11.60 % of the expansive territory at rates exceeding 33.6 tons per year per hectare, is predominantly concentrated in mountainous regions marked by exceptionally steep slopes. Conversely, the majority, accounting for 64.23% of the entire expanse, is situated in the plains, where erosion rates are comparatively lower at 6.7 tons per hectare per year. The assessment of potential water erosion yields disconcerting outcomes, projecting an average annual loss rate of 15.38 tons per hectare throughout the entire catchment area. The results presented in this study will serve as a vital resource and a decision-making tool, supporting the management and preservation of natural resources by policymakers and stakeholders.

	Software has been developed using the MATLAB language to analyze laser diode having the architecture InGaAsP/InP .The cavity length of active region of multi quantum well semiconductor laser effect on threshold current, quantum efficiency and optical output power of InGaAsP/InP and separate confinement heterostructure (SCH) is investigated. High-speed communication systems, especially those that use optical fiber communication for high-speed data transmission, use lasers with a wavelength of 1.55 μm. here, the performance of changing the cavity length values of active region between 250 to 500 μm at room temperature is study in this work. The characteristics power–current (P–I)and related features, threshold current and slope efficiency have been investigated. The threshold current decreases with increase of cavity lengths because the carrier density in the quantum well is very high. This effect is particularly pronounced in the shortest cavity measured (250μm), we extractIth=6.25ma,αi=30mA and ηd=63%. These modifications show that our proposed structure is better compared to the GaInP/GaAs 5QW laser structure (Ith=360mA and ηd=51%).

	Two hypotheses divide experts on determining the effective properties of composite materials using multi–scale homogenization methods. The first hypothesis states that multi-scale homogenization methods can ensure the direct determination of effective properties, at the macro level, of composite materials from a single representation of the medium at the lowest possible scale that allows for a good representation of all heterogeneities. The second hypothesis states that the determination cannot be ensured directly from a single scale but rather through multistep homogenization where each step represents the medium at a different scale from the lowest to the macroscale. To answer this question, a rigorous study is carried out; it includes calculating the two effective elastic properties, bulk, and shear moduli of three phases of a multi–layered sphere composite model by studying three phases. A multistep homogenization method is used to determine the effective properties of the composite and the obtained results are compared with those of the direct homogenization. Two different studies are considered: the first is based on an analytical model and the second on the numerical homogenization based on finite element calculation. To consider the effect of some influential parameters, several situations are treated by the combination of the variation of the volume fractions of the three phases and their property contrasts. The analytical calculations are performed using the Python 3.10 commercial software. It could be concluded that the effective elastic properties obtained either by the multistep or by the direct homogenization show no significant difference.

	The study aimed at analyzing the non- verbal behaviors of secondary school teachers of P.E physical education and sport during the preparatory session. The two researchers have used the descriptive analytical method, through regular observation of the teaching behavior between the teacher and the student .The sample of the study was 8 teachers who were selected in an intentional way, by using the observation grid as a tool of study. The study concluded that the teacher’s non- verbal behaviors, differ according to their experiences, while the type of sports activity being taught to students has no effect on the form of the non-verbal behaviors of the teachers.

	La présente étude s’intéresse à la littérature scientifique qui s’est faite autour du penseur algérien Malek Bennabi (1905-1973) en ce début du 21e siècle. Son objectif est de vérifier l’authenticité du prétendu retour de la pensée bennabienne sur la scène académique et intellectuelle, ainsi que de mesurer le degré d’intérêt que les chercheurs lui portent à travers le monde, notamment en Algérie avec l’apparition de plusieurs inédits pendant cette même période. Pour cela, un état des lieux a été entrepris, en posant comme cadre chronologique la période qui va de l’an 2000 jusqu’à 2022. Le recensement des données bibliographiques, illustré par des tableaux et des représentations graphiques, s’est fait selon plusieurs plans : le nombre ainsi que les nationalités des chercheurs, les pays depuis lesquels les travaux ont été publiés, les types de documents (livres, thèses, conférences, etc.), les catégories de ces travaux (sociologie, économie, religion, etc.) ainsi que les langues dans lesquelles ils ont été exprimés. 	La présente étude s’intéresse à la littérature scientifique qui s’est faite autour du penseur algérien Malek Bennabi (1905-1973) en ce début du 21e siècle. Son objectif est de vérifier l’authenticité du prétendu retour de la pensée bennabienne sur la scène académique et intellectuelle, ainsi que de mesurer le degré d’intérêt que les chercheurs lui portent à travers le monde, notamment en Algérie avec l’apparition de plusieurs inédits pendant cette même période. Pour cela, un état des lieux a été entrepris, en posant comme cadre chronologique la période qui va de l’an 2000 jusqu’à 2022. Le recensement des données bibliographiques, illustré par des tableaux et des représentations graphiques, s’est fait selon plusieurs plans : le nombre ainsi que les nationalités des chercheurs, les pays depuis lesquels les travaux ont été publiés, les types de documents (livres, thèses, conférences, etc.), les catégories de ces travaux (sociologie, économie, religion, etc.) ainsi que les langues dans lesquelles ils ont été exprimés. Les résultats de cette étude révèlent un phénomène de pluralité, voire de cosmopolitisme, et un taux de publication croissant au cours des années.

	The targeted resorption of socio-economic deficits at the local (municipal) level requires the use of a cartography of development in the multidimensional sense of the term, combined with that of the causes structural factors of its possible delay. This article provides for this purpose a municipal cartography of the development of M’sila province, and its sources assimilated to education, standard of living, economic activity, housing and social services. To ensure a certain objectivity in our research, we have chosen an automatic technique following the essential steps (choice of variables, normalization, weighting and aggregation) in the hierarchical classification of municipalities. This mapping of multidimensional local development clearly shows the development deficits at the municipal level, due to the delays accumulated for years, despite the generalization of basic education and attempt the local authorities to improve the economic and social conditions of the population. The results obtained show that on the whole, the urban municipalities have a local development index higher than 0.7 and rank in the first places, this index goes from a minimum (0.310) observed in the rural municipalities Tamsa, Zerzour, Sidi M’hammed and the ones located south of the province where the climate is dry and hot, the maximum index (0.860) recorded in two urban municipalities at namely M’sila and Bousaada, The high variability of development deficits shows that any development strategy would benefit from being rethought in order to provide more effective to the different situations experienced by rural municipalities in particular.

Contrastive Rhetoric theory offers valuable insights into how rhetorical patterns are transferred from L1 to L2. While previous studies acknowledge the influence of culture on rhetoric, they often overlook the reasoning mechanisms shaping rhetorical choices. The present research addresses this gap within the context of Arabic discourse, focusing on Algerian academic corpus, by shifting the focus from surface cultural manifestations to the fundamental reasoning embedded within Arab culture. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of how major Arabic rhetorical patterns, including paraphrase, lexical couplets, and parallelism, are transferred to English compositions by Algerian students.

	Recent climatic shifts and the growth of agricultural land have escalated the incidence of wheat field fires, presenting severe risks to both food security and local economies. This study aims to develop advanced predictive models to effectively forecast significant wheat fires in Barika, Algeria. We utilized a comprehensive dataset spanning from 2015 to 2023, which includes information on fire incidents and meteorological factors like temperature, humidity, precipitation, and wind speed. A sophisticated ensemble machine learning model was crafted, combining Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), and Random Forest (RF) in a stacked configuration to predict wheat fire events. Our analysis indicates that the ensemble model significantly outperforms traditional single-model approaches in terms of both accuracy and reliability. Employing these cutting-edge predictive techniques significantly bolsters firefighting measures, enhances resource management, and reduces the adverse effects of fires in agricultural zones. The employment of ensemble learning highlights its utility as a formidable tool in environmental management and crisis response. With more precise forecasts, this model facilitates improved emergency preparedness and strategic intervention plans, aiming to safeguard essential agricultural assets and support rural communities against the backdrop of mounting environmental pressures.

	A Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) comprises multiple parts constructed from different materials. This complexity presents challenges in designing the blade structure. In this study, we investigated a structural optimization of a small-scale blade for a VAWT, with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) model. The purpose is to minimize the blade mass while adhering to a suite of critical wind conditions according to the IEC 61400-2 Standard. The structure made from Aluminum material simulates structure’s global behavior to determine maximum stress and deflection levels. The same structure is modeled using Glass/Epoxy composite for optimizing its design. Twenty combinations of Glass/Epoxy layers, varying in ply thickness and orientation, are simulated to find the most suitable combination. Results demonstrated that the optimization case [45°/90°/0°/−45°] obtained the minimum values of stress and deflection, is 59% lighter than Aluminum blade (initial design). The designed Glass/Epoxy composite blade is acceptable and recommended for structural safety.

	Reservoir dams in Algeria face reduced lifespans and diminished water resources due to sedimentation, which often leads to out-of-service states. To address this issue, topo-bathymetry has been identified as the preferred technique for predicting silting in dam basins. Consequently, the seek for optimal interpolation methods to conduct topo-bathymetric surveys has become increasingly important. This study compares two primary interpolation methods, deterministic and geostatistical, to determine the most effective approach for these surveys. Three specific techniques were examined in this research: inverse distance weighting, radial basis function (deterministic), and ordinary kriging (geostatistical). The study focused on five reservoir dams in Algeria, using cross-validation to assess the performance of each interpolation method. The results revealed that the geostatistical approach outperformed deterministic estimations across all five sites. The superiority of the geostatistical method was further supported by the performance metrics used in the study. Based on these findings, ordinary kriging emerged as the most suitable method for interpolating topo-bathymetric surveys for all sites, regardless of variations in morphology and spatial sampling density. This research contributes valuable insights for enhancing reservoir dam management in Algeria in order to optimize water resource allocation.

	Water resources are facing significant challenges in result of rapidly growing demand, deteriorating quality, and the effects of climate change. Today, water quantity and quality issues have become prevalent in various regions across the globe, affecting both northern and southern territories. Among the sectors reliant on this resource, irrigation stands out as the largest consumer of water. When surface water becomes inaccessible due to insufficient precipitation or other factors, the use of groundwater becomes the only viable alternative for irrigation. The Remila Plain (Khenchela) is located in an endorean watershed in northeastern Algeria and extends over 250 km2 in a synclinal basin filled with water from the Mio-Plio Quaternary - the main aquifer of the region, widely used for irrigation. The aim of this work is to study the hydrochemistry of these waters, as well as the evolution of mineralisation, the identification of the origin of the chemistry, and the suitability of these waters for irrigation. Initial results indicate an evolution of mineralisation in the direction of groundwater flow, with electrical conductivity values varying between 1000μS/cm in the recharge zones, and 2700μS/cm at the outlet. This mineralisation is mainly due to the dissolution of evaporitic minerals and the alteration of silicates. In addition, the various water quality indices used indicate that the water can be used for irrigation without major risk to plants and soils.

	Inspired by a real-work case, this paper introduces a profit maximization model for dynamic&amp;nbsp;lot sizing&amp;nbsp;considering substitution and multiple usage of returns for refurbishing at different levels of quality or for disassembly to extract key parts that will be used in the manufacturing process. This model allows studying the interactions between different types of returns and decisions. To analyze the impact of uncertainty on these interactions, we develop a robust two-stage stochastic program with uncertainty on demands and returns. The resulting problems are mixed-integer&amp;nbsp;linear programs&amp;nbsp;that we solve using an efficient relax-and-fix and fix-and-optimize heuristic. Extensive numerical experiments are conducted to study the different trade-offs when integrating multi-usage of returns with substitution and accordingly derive managerial insights. The experiments have revealed, for example, that: (i) the profit margin of the refurbished items is the main determinant of the total profit and when such margin in high, the total profit becomes more sensitive to different cost variations; (ii) collection efficiency becomes very sensitive to collection cost and much less sensitive to refurbishing cost especially with large profit margins; (iii) when demand and returns are uncertain parameters, substitution becomes the best option as uncertainty and prices increase; (iv) when the gap between prices of different quality levels is high, lost sales occur mainly on the lowest quality product and downgrading decreases together with substitution; and (v) Sharing the production line between refurbishing and manufacturing for low-quality products is highly motivated by small upgrading costs and their substitution level increases with increasing upgrading costs.

	Methods : To achieve this objective, the truss bridge was subjected to a series of ground motions, representing natural seismic events. The seismic response of the bridge was investigated by applying the linear time history method to the 3D finite element model. This analysis focused specifically on the evaluation of base shear and displacement. The analysis was extended to include the seismic performance of truss structures. The comparison between the bridge responses with and without consideration of the vertical component of ground motion was made to clarify the effect of vertical excitation.

	This paper studies the phenomenon of hydraulic jump in compound channels using a numerical model and provides remarkable results. Several values of the opening parameter, h1, are utilized to generate the hydraulic jumps. A recirculation zone is detected by studying the RNG-K-Ɛ turbulent Volume Of Fluid (VOF) model, which is distinguished by the modified directions of the velocity vectors. When comparedwith the experimental values, the numerical simulation demonstrated very good accuracy, with an error of no more than 9.4%. The results underline the reliability and usefulness of the VOF turbulence model for understanding and simulating the hydraulic processes in compound channels.

	Background and Objective: Plants of the genusMarrubium are used to cure several infectious diseases like asthma, rheumatoid and diabetes.This study investigatedin vivo antihyperglycemic capacity of the methanolic fraction (MeOHE) of twoMarrubium species via animal model.Materials and Methods: The plant extracts were investigated both qualitatively and quantitatively to reveal their phytochemical composition.Pharmacologically speaking, Wistar albino rats of either sex (150-180 g) were used to investigate the antidiabetic effect using 25 rats in each ofthe two used approaches; respectively Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT) and streptozotocin-induced diabetes approaches. In addition, variousbiochemical parameters were investigated to confirm the pharmacological quality of our plants. Evaluated for their possible antidiabetic effectduring two consecutive weeks for glycemia levels (2 hrs period). Results: Data revealed that MeOHE induced a significant antihyperglycemic effect,in whichM. deserti, a slight decrease in the glucose level at (143±0.5 mg/dL) was obtained while a reduction was recorded forM. vulgare(71.5±0.75 mg/dL) with a same observation for triglycerides, cholesterol, glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase (TGO), glutamic pyruvic transaminase(TGP), creatinine comparing to standard. Moreover, the result showed high levels of phenolic and flavono{\&quot;ıds content. Conclusion: This modestwork confirmed once again the real pharmacological capacity of vegetals and their possible implication to cure diabetes and complications relatedto it underlying the antihyperglycemic activity of these plants.

Utilizing descriptors outlined by UPOV 2015 pertaining to apples, the study focuses on morphological parameters of leaves, fruits, and terminal shoots across three varieties: Golden Delicious, Royal Gala, and Starkrimson. Additionally, soil analysis was conducted to ascertain its suitability for apple cultivation. The examination revealed limited morphological diversity among the investigated apple cultivars, with some descriptors, particularly those related to fruit traits, showing insignificant differences between cultivar types. Overall, the studied varieties - Golden Delicious, Royal Gala, and Starkrimson - exhibit distinct physiological and morphological characteristics. Variations in size, shape, skin color, flesh attributes, as well as sugar and acid content, contribute to the uniqueness of each variety. Whether one prefers sweet or tart apples, or favors larger or smaller fruits, there exists an apple variety to cater to individual tastes. To help preserve it, we devised an in vitro micropropagation technique. The cuttings with axillary buds were cultured on different media supplemented with different combinations and concentrations of plant growth regulators. The best results were obtained on Woody Plants Medium (WPM) supplemented with 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP: 1.5 mg/LL, 3 mg/L) and naphthalene acetic acid (NAA: 1.5 mg/LL) in combination with BAP (1.5 mg/ L); BAP (1.5 mg/ L) with Gibberellins (GA3: 0.5 mg/ L). The best shoot proliferation rates were obtained on WPM supplemented with 1.5 mg/LL (BAP) and BAP: 1.5 mg/L; GA3: 0.5 mg/L; or BAP: 1.5 mg/L + ANA: 1.5 mg/L. The highest rooting rate (100%) was obtained with shoots grown on WPM medium supplemented with NAA (1.5 mg/LL). In Algeria, knowledge about plant resources for honey bees and the properties of the honey is raising interest. We note that some historical records in certain provinces remain unconfirmed and/or questionable, indicating the need for further investigation. However, wheat’s morphological and biochemical responses to aphid infestation are poorly studied. Our study evaluated the varietal behavior of durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf) against Rhopalosiphum maidis (Homoptera: Aphididae) in laboratory conditions. We studied morphological trait variation (plant height [HP], flag leaf area [SFDF], leaf area [SF], spike length [LE], and beard length [LB]) and biochemical characteristics (chlorophyll, soluble sugars, and proline contents) of three varieties in Algeria: MBB, BOU, and GTA. MBB is the least affected, with a 13.34 % infestation rate. The heaviest infestation occurs during the heading stage. All morphological factors decreased in length or surface between control and infested samples. ANOVA showed significant variations for HP, LE, SFDF, and SF but not LB. Biochemical parameters decrease in GTA. In MBB, chlorophyll and soluble sugars decrease while proline increases. For BOU, soluble sugars decrease while chlorophyll and proline increase. Only soluble sugars showed a significant statistical variation between control and infested plants. HP is affected by aphid infestation, which is of higher significance for MBB. Proline content is affected in BOU and GTA. There is no significant variation between aphid infestation and chlorophyll, soluble sugars, and proline levels for MBB. The effect of R. maidis infestation is less important on MBB. HP, SFDF, SF, and LE are morphological selection criteria for R. maidis infestation resistance. Proline is a biochemical selection criterion. Leaves, flowers, and stems were extracted separately using methanol, ethanol, and acetone. Phenolic compounds were quantified colorimetrically and identified using liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (LC-MS). Antioxidant capacity was assessed using six different&amp;nbsp;in vitro&amp;nbsp;assays, 2,2'-azinobis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) diammonium salt, 1,1-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl, cupric reducing antioxidant capacity, ferric reducing antioxidant power, ferrous ion chelating, and phenanthroline assay, while the photo-protective capacity was evaluated using the sun protective factor. The methanolic flower extracts revealed the highest O-diphenol and phenolic levels (287.9 ± 0.50 and 147.87 ± 0.21 µg GAE/mg, respectively), whereas the acetonic and ethanolic leaf extracts contained the highest flavonoid (72.17 ± 0.12 μg QE/mg) and flavonol (35.28 ± 0.05 μg QE/mg) levels, respectively. LC-MS was used to identify 18 phenolics, including quinic acid (5.051–69.69 ppm), luteolin-7-o-glucoside (7.802–44.917 ppm), apigenin-7-o-glucoside (3.751–68.507 ppm), and cirsiliol (2.081–15.608 ppm), distinguishing this Aures taxon. Principal component analysis and unweighted pair-group method with arithmetic mean revealed variability in phytochemicals, antioxidant properties, and photo-protective activity influenced by biological activities and the compound content. The population dynamics of&amp;nbsp;Cistus salviifolius&amp;nbsp;and&amp;nbsp;Cistus monspeliensis&amp;nbsp;were studied along a post-fire successional gradient during the first nine months (September 2021 – May 2022), in two forest communities: the Cork oak (Quercus suber) and the Aleppo pine (Pinus halepensis) forests in the coastal zone of Bejaia province. The&amp;nbsp;Cistus&amp;nbsp;spp. germinations were counted monthly in each forest on 10 plots of 1 m2, evenly distributed along 2 transects of 45 m each. The results showed that the majority of germinations occur in December with 207.5 ± 24.2 seedlings in the Cork oak forest and 171.3 ± 18.0 seedlings in the Aleppo pine forest. Student’s t-test does not reveal significant differences for December between the two communities. During the first months following the fire (September and October 2021), germinations were almost absent. The monthly rainfall in September 2021 was estimated at 16.25 mm, an insufficient amount for effective germination. Late germination results in an extension of its period, showed a high rate in January 2022 with 42.2 ± 2.1 and 11.5 ± 0.8 seedlings, respectively, in the Cork oak forest and the pine forest. Beyond January, germination was practically nonexistent in both communities. It is a fast-growing herbaceous annual with high nutritional relevance. The present work was designed to determine the effect of six soluble salts (NaCl, Na2SO4, KCl, CaCl2, CaCO3, and MgCl2) on germination of&amp;nbsp;P. oleracea&amp;nbsp;seeds. The effect of salinity was tested on final germination percentage (FGP%), and germination tolerance index (GTI%) using five concentrations (0, 200, 300, 400, and 600 mM) of each salt. In addition, laboratory experiments were conducted to assess the effects of salinity on germination recovery from high saline conditions (600 mM). Salinity level and salt composition significantly influenced germination attributes.&amp;nbsp;P. oleracea&amp;nbsp;seeds were non-dormant, exhibited approximately 100% germination in distilled water. Both FGP and GTI gradually decreased with increasing salinity. This study showed that seeds of P. oleracea can germinate under 300 mM in all tested salts. The salts causing germination inhibition exhibited specificity, with an increasing trend observed in the following sequence: MgCl2&amp;nbsp;&amp;gt; Na2SO4&amp;nbsp;&amp;gt; NaCl &amp;gt; KCl &amp;gt; CaCl2&amp;nbsp;&amp;gt; CaCO3. Transferring ungerminated seeds from 600 mM to distilled water recovered their germination ability. Based on these results, we can conclude that&amp;nbsp;P. oleracea&amp;nbsp;is a high salt-tolerant species that can tolerate a variety of salts found in soil. In 2020, we sampled and examined 1800 dates of the Deglet Nour variety from three palm groves managed with different protection modes: yellow bagging, white bagging, and no bagging. The results obtained mention the presence of nine species of Nitidulidae with five species reported for the first time on dates in Algeria. The highest relative abundance (RA) of Nitidulidae beetles was noted in the southern (28%) direction. However, the variation of infestation rate (IR) according to the direction was not very accentuated. The GLM analysis showed that, except for the adult stage, the direction presented a highly significant effect on the RA variation of the total Nitudilidae, the larva and pupa stages (p&amp;nbsp;&amp;lt; 0.0001), but there was no significant effect of direction on the IR in all studied cases. The highest RA of total Nitidulidae was found on the white plastic-protected dates (RA = 42%), the IR of the total Nitidulidae was higher on dates protected by yellow plastic (IR = 38%). The unprotected dates recorded the lowest RA and IR for all studied cases and the effect of bagging type on the RA variation of Nitidulidae, in all studied cases, was statistically highly significant (p&amp;nbsp;&amp;lt; 0.0001). This effect on the IR was very highly significant only for total Nitudilidae, larvae, and adults (p&amp;nbsp;&amp;lt; 0.0001). So, the southern direction presents the best conditions for sheltering the largest numbers of Nitidulidae. The latter also has a marked preference for bunches covered by plastic bags rather than for those left uncovered. In this study, we proposed a DPSIR framework as a model in the Sebkhates of Aures wetland complex (SAWC, Northeast of Algeria), in order to create a regional wetland observatory to deliver ecosystem services within current state of changes resulted from socioeconomic drivers. DPSIR facilitates the identification of essential indicators to detect threats to the Sebkahtes of Aures wetlands complex (SAWC), influencing policymakers to enhance the protection and management of these wetlands. In line with the established DPSIR framework. This same approach and methodology could be applied to the other 15 wetlands complexes known in Algeria, culminating in the creation of a national wetland observatory.
