AbstractA hill reservoir research project aims, among other perspectives, to improve the regional agriculture potential through irrigation of small areas. For such a project, the feasibility study for a given area is fundamental before the establishment of any related applied research works. This paper is of a socio-economic relevance for the Timgad region (NE Algeria) as the presented results consist of a contribution of both socio-economic operators and policy makers. In the study area, water resources are closely related to the regional geology and the main objectives of the establishment of the Foum-Toub hill reservoir is to promote the irrigation of its plain, regulate the flow of the Foum-Toub creek and minimize the silting of the Koudiet Lemdaour dam. The selected sites for the construction of this work are characterized by an impermeable bedrock. Loose material, favorable to serve as borrow areas, can be supplied from the surrounding depressions where sandstone can also be used for the dike construction.

Impact of triple-material gate and highly doped source/drain extensions on sensitivity of DNA biosensors. Journal of Computational ElectronicsJournal of Computational Electronics. 2018;Volume 17 :pp 1797–1806.
AbstractGate engineering and highly doped source/drain region have been investigated to design a new DNA sensor for use in biomedical applications based on a double gate (DG) dielectric modulated (DM) junctionless (JL) metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET) with triple material (TM) gate. Based on the dielectric modulation effect, DNA molecules in the nanogap cavity change due to the charge density of biomolecules, producing a change in the threshold voltage of the device. Analytical and numerical analysis was carried out to reveal the impact of physical parameters on the sensitivity of the proposed biosensor. Various characteristics, such as the surface potential, threshold voltage, and drain current were also investigated. The effectiveness of the proposed TM-DG-DM-JL-MOSFET structure with highly doped source/drain extensions is confirmed by comparison of the results with those for a conventional single-materiel (SM) gate DM-JL-MOSFET, revealing a good improvement in sensitivity and making the proposed structure an attractive solution for use in DNA-based sensor applications.

In this article, we present ARPM (Augmented Reality-based Preventive Maintenance) system, which aims at offering to the technician of a Cement Factory a virtual assistance in real time using various forms of 3D models, images or even texts, in order to help him to maintain and inspect his equipment. This system not only offers the possibility of reducing costs of the preventive maintenance, but also allows monitoring and even anticipating failures. In order to ensure a reliable maintenance operation, we adapted our system to be compatible with the CMMS system (Computerized Maintenance Management System) already exists in the Cement factory

Improved feedback linearization control based on PSO optimization of an extended Kalman filter. Journal of Optimal Control Applications & MethodsJournal of Optimal Control Applications & Methods. 2018;39 :1871-1886.
AbstractA robust nonlinear controller based on an improved feedback linearization technique with state observer in presence of uncertainties and external disturbances is developed for a class of nonlinear systems. First, by combining classical feedback linearization approach with a robust control term and a fuzzy logic system, we design and study an efficient controller for such systems. Second, we propose an optimized extended Kalman filter for the observation of the states. The parameters to be optimized are the covariance matrices Q and G, which play an important role in the extended Kalman filter performances. This optimization is insured by the particle swarm optimization algorithm. The Lyapunov synthesis approach is used to prove the stability of the whole control loop. The proposed approach is simulated on a nonlinear inverted-pendulum system. Simulation results demonstrate the robustness and effectiveness of the proposed scheme and exhibit a more superior performance than its conventional counterpart.

Improved Sliding Mode Controller Using Backstepping and Fuzzy Logic for a Quadrotor Aircraft. International Symposium on Mechatronics and Renewable Energies 10- 11 December [Internet]. 2018.
Publisher's VersionAbstract
In this work, a new robust nonlinear controller is presented in presence of large external disturbances for a quadrotor aircraft. The controller is based on an improved sliding mode control. The improvement is done by adding two other terms, one is a backstepping synthesis and the other one is a fuzzy logic term in order to reduce the chattering phenomenon and achieve more acceptable performance. The dynamical motion equations are obtained by Euler-Newton formalism. Lyapunov theorem is used to prove the stability of control system. A simulation is carried out to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control.

The influence of the aquifer geometry on the groundwater flows (Timgad Basin, North-East Algeria), ISSN / e-ISSN: 2220-6663 /2222-3045. journal of Biodiversity and Environmental Sciences (JBES)Journal of Biodiversity and Environmental Sciences (JBES). 2018;Vol. 12 :pp. 354-360.
AbstractThe basin of Timgad belongs to the North-Eastern Algerian Saharan Atlas; it is located at the northern extension of the Aures Mountains. The basin is an asymmetrical syncline oriented East-West covering an area of 1000 Km2. The climate is semi-arid (cold winter and hot summer) with average annual rainfall not exceeding 400 mm. Recently, the increasing agricultural activities led to an excessive exploitation of groundwater resources. In order to meet this rising water supply demands, implementing a water resources management policy is a priority which should be based on a basin hydrogeological study. Effectively, the geological and geophysical studies have confirmed the presence of permeable Miocene and Cretaceous formations (sandstone and carbonate); relatively resistant affected by fractures network, which are probably forming a confined aquifers. Indeed, recent wells drilled in the basin center and their boundaries; show that the aquifers are artesian. The sandstone aquifer of the Miocene is the most important, it is characterized by significant thickness which can exceed 200m, its extension as well as its particular corrugated geometry, characterized by a wavy shape, which forming a series of shale-marl filling depressions, influences the groundwater flow, actually, the piezometric surface illustrates groundwater convergent flow oriented to the east, towards Bou el freis, likewise the sandstone aquifer is marked by the presence of a West-East drainage axis which separates the basin northern part characterized by a low reservoirs hydraulic capacity from the southern part distinguished by the groundwater relative abundance. Groundwater is generally easily extracted, except the northern part of the basin where the top shale-marl layer is thickens to over 1000m.

Intégration des problèmes de lot Sizing et d’ordonnancement dans les ateliers type Flow Shop. Département de Génie Industriel. 2018.
